Forms squared, falls worked out and levels checked, so the water runs where it should and the finished edge lines up with the house.
Concrete is the easy part.
Most of what makes a slab last happens before the truck turns up. The block gets cut and levelled, the base gets prepped, the forms get set square, the steel goes in on chairs and the levels get checked twice. Then it is poured, screeded, floated and cut.
Because the yard on Depot Road also covers earthworks, excavation and plant, that whole sequence stays with one mob instead of being handed between three. It is the same reason a rural pad, a pool surround and a run of box culverts all sit in the same photo album.
